This article applies to: EV Wall Home V2 (6200 / 6201), EV Base V2 (6010 / 6011) and EV Wall Business V1 / V2 (6100 / 6101). These chargers have a separate RFID reader. Other chargers: the RFID reader is part of the AC charge controller + RFID, see AC charge controller + RFID not found.
What does this mean?
While the RFID reader is not found, RFID cards are not read, so charging with a whitelisted card cannot start. Charging without authentication keeps working. On an EV Base V2, each connector has its own RFID reader: only that connector is affected.
Step 1: Power cycle the charging station
The RFID reader sometimes hangs. A real power cycle often brings it back: switch the charging station off with its circuit breaker, wait a few seconds and switch it on again. Then check the modules in the app (Settings > Charging stations, tap your charging station).
Step 2: Check the cables
EV Wall Home V2
The RFID reader sits in the front cover. All connections inside the charger run through it, so several of its ports are in use: the A+B port (network cable from the Splitter), the B port to the AC charge controller and the A port to the Power Box. Leave all of them connected.
- Check that every cable on the RFID reader is fully clicked in and undamaged.
- Unplug and reconnect them one by one, each in the same port.
EV Base V2
- Check the RJ10 cables of the missing RFID reader. They must be in a B port, not in the A port.
- Fully clicked in and undamaged. Unplug and reconnect them.
EV Wall Business V2
- Check the RJ10 cable between the Connect (B port) and the RFID reader: fully clicked in and undamaged.
- Unplug and reconnect it. A hanging RFID reader can also disturb the other modules, so reconnecting this cable sometimes brings them back too.
Step 3: Power cycle again and test
Switch the power off and on again. Check that the RFID reader is shown as found in the app, and present an RFID card to test it.
