To make public charging possible, you must be registered as a charging host.
If you're not yet registered, learn how in this article.
Registered as a charging host, you need to complete the following two steps:
1 → Enable public charging by setting Smappee Services as the CPO.
2 → Set up a pricing policy to define the charging fees.
Step 1 : Enable public charging by setting Smappee Services as the CPO.
- Log into the Smappee dashboard using your account connected to your organization or company.
Remark: This account can either be the existing user connected to your charger or the new user created as an administrator, while registering your company. - Select the "Chargers" board from the menu on the left.
- On the right, your "Charging Squares" will appear.
Click on the charging square you wish to set public—it should display "selected" in green.
- Scroll down to the section titled “Charging stations at…”
Again, click on your charging station—it should also show "selected" in green.
- Next, scroll down until you reach the section titled "Charger configuration."
Under the "General" tab, click the pencil icon next to "Address" and enter the location where the charging station is located, if this has not already been done.
- Now go to the "Services" tab, click on the pencil icon next to "Session activation Method"
- A pop-up window will appear, allowing you to change the Session activation method.
Switch from Unauthenticated to Authenticated Charging (which requires a charge card).
You can now activate public charging by selecting “Smappee Services.”
Click on publicly visible ( Public visibility and restricted acces – Support )
Step 2 : Set up a pricing policy.
Click on Create a new Pricing Policy, you'll be guided through 4 steps.
1.The first step is the Price Structure. (mandatory)
Here you can set your price per kWh.
You can also add a starting fee and a price per hour if you like.
Want to charge more after a certain time?
Simply set a second hourly rate that kicks in later.
Once done -> click next to continue
2.The next step is 'Groups'. (optional)
Use this if you want to give a special discount to certain people.
The existing "All others" group means the price you set applies to everyone.
When you select a Group, a pop-up will open where you can create a Group and set a special price or discount.
More info on groups here.
Once done -> click next to continue
3.After setting up all prices, you can Assign your Pricing Policy to the relevant charging station(s) in this step.
Attention: If this is your first time creating a Pricing Policy, there's nothing you need to do here yet.
You can only assign a Pricing Policy when you have multiple policies and more than one charger,
this allows you to choose which policy applies to which charger.
Once you're ready, click next to continue.
4.In the last step 'General' you can name your New Pricing Policy.
If you don't name it - it will automatically be called ' Default Pricing".
Finally !
