AC charge controller not found (EV Wall Home/Business V2, EV Base V2)

On an EV Wall Home/Business V2 or EV Base V2, the module "AC charge controller" is shown in red or is missing from the modules of your charging station.

This article applies to: EV Wall Home V2 (6200 / 6201) and EV Base V2 (6010 / 6011). These chargers have a separate AC charge controller and RFID reader. Other chargers: see AC charge controller + RFID not found. EV Wall V4, EV One V4 and EV Dual: contact Smappee support.

What does this mean?

The AC charge controller controls the charging. While it is not found, the charger cannot charge. On an EV Base V2, each connector has its own AC charge controller: only the connector of the missing module is affected.

First: check the modules in the app

Open the Smappee app, go to Settings > Charging stations, tap your charging station and look at its modules.

What you see What to do
The AC charge controller is red. When you tap it, a new serial number is shown A replacement module is connected but not linked yet. Link it in the app: How to replace a Charging Station module via the Smappee App

Safety: The checks below are done inside the charging station. Only a qualified installer should carry them out. Switch off the power before you open the charger.

EV Wall Home V2

  1. Switch off the power and open the charger.
  2. Check both RJ10 cables of the AC charge controller: from the B port of the RFID reader to the AC charge controller, and from the AC charge controller to the B port of the Power Box. Fully clicked in, undamaged. Unplug and reconnect both.
  3. Close the charger and switch the power back on. The charger searches for all its modules again.

EV Base V2

  1. Switch off the power and open the charger.
  2. AC charge controller 1 missing: check the RJ10 cables from the Connect to AC charge controller 1, and from AC charge controller 1 to RFID reader 1.
  3. AC charge controller 2 missing: check the RJ10 cables from RFID reader 2 to AC charge controller 2, and from AC charge controller 2 to MID meter 2.
  4. All cables in a B port, fully clicked in and undamaged. Unplug and reconnect them.
  5. Close the charger and switch the power back on.

EV Wall Business V2

  1. Switch off the power and open the charger.
  2. Check both RJ10 cables of the AC charge controller: from the Connect to the AC charge controller, and from the AC charge controller to the MID meter. Fully clicked in, undamaged. Unplug and reconnect both.
  3. Close the charger and switch the power back on.

Expected result: the AC charge controller is shown as found in the app, and a charging session can be started to test this.
