Troubleshoot procedure
The procedure helps you troubleshoot when you are find the Smappee Power box and other Charger modules in the device list but not the Solidcore and CT-Hub to do the measurements.
This usually indicates an issue on the A-line. The root cause can be related to one of the following components:
Powerbox
Relay board
UTP cable
Splitter
Solidcore / CT-Hub
These components together form the A-line. Below you will find a step-by-step procedure to help localize the issue.
Please see the yellow line on the drawing below to know what we mean with the A-bus, you will see the line is connected to all the A-ports.
Step 0 - Make sure all is connected according to the manual
- See manuals of the products in the Applicable for section
- Make sure all RJ10 cable are firmly put in the ports
- Make sure the Solidcore or CT Hub are connected to the A port of the splitter
- Make sure the total length of the A-bus (From Powerbox inside station to last CT Hub in the bus) is not more then 100m
Step 1 – Initial test
Connect the Solidcore or CT-Hub directly to the powerbox.
-
Are the Solidcore and CT-Hub detected?
No: The issue is most likely related to the powerbox or the CT-Hub/Solidcore.
Replace one of these components (recommended: CT-Hub).
If the component is detected afterwards, the root cause has been identified.Yes: The issue is likely related to the relay board, the UTP cable, or the splitter.
Step 2 – Test the UTP cable
Use a pre-made UTP cable and connect it to the relay board and the splitter.
-
Are the components detected?
Yes: The original UTP cable is the cause of the issue, make sure you have a UTP tester at hand
No: The new cable does not resolve the issue. Proceed to the next step.
Step 3 – Add a splitter
Add a second splitter to the system and install it inside the charging station.
Connect the UTP cable going to the relay board to the splitter inside the charging station.
Disconnect the A-bus from the relay board and connect it to the A-bus of the splitter.
Use the rear B-bus (port 3) of the relay board and connect it with an RJ-10 cable to the B-bus of the splitter.
