Overload protection is automatically active as soon as a Maximum current value has been filled in, there's no separate on/off switch. You can view and change it via the Smappee app or Dashboard.
Note: Don't confuse Maximum current with Maximum capacity, they sit right next to each other in the Grid row. Maximum current matches your main breaker rating and is required for overload protection (and for Solar charging/Schedules to work at all). Maximum capacity is a separate, optional extra cap in kW, see How can I set a maximum grid capacity? for the difference.
Via the app
- Go to Settings > Smappee monitors
- Tap your energy monitor > Circuit configuration
- Tap Grid
- Edit the value under Maximum current
Via the Dashboard
- Add the Circuit configuration card to one of your boards, if it isn't there yet
- Change the value on the Maximum current field, on the Grid row
Note: If you have more than one Smappee charging station, apply phase rotation during installation for overload protection to work optimally. This is registered via the Smappee Dashboard, see how to apply phase rotation.
