What features does the Smappee Genius offer?
The Smappee Genius acts as the brain of an Infinity installation.
- It makes sure your measurement setup is connected to the Smappee Cloud
- It has build-in automation capabilities to control the Smappee Output module and Smappee Switch
- It can read out pulses of the Smappee Input Module
- It reads out the Smappee Power Box via Modbus to gather measurements
- It can also be put in a special mode, called Multi-gateway to combine multiple Infinity setups with Smappee Connects
- It has a local MQTT broker and can send messages to an external MQTT server, see Can I get access to the data via MQTT?
- It can be read out via the Smappee Rest API, see Can I get access to the data via API?
Common questions
- Smappee Genius should always be connected to the B-Port of the Smappee Power Box (Not A!)
- Smappee Genius in Multi-gateway mode cannot
- Read out Input modules
- Read out other Smappee Genius installations (only Smappee Connects)
- Smappee Genius cannot read out MID Meters.
- A single Infinity setup allows 28 CT's maximum (7 x CT Hubs)
