Requirements

You need a Smappee Genius or a Connect linked to a Smappee Genius in multigateway mode.

An Output Module must always be connected to the B-Bus of the Smappee ecosystem.

• Smappee Genius:  Connect the Output Module directly to the B-port of the Genius.

  Only through Multigateway: 

• Smappee Connect: The Connect must be linked as a child to a Genius or Genius Flex (the parent). Connect the Output Module physically to the B-port of the Connect.
• Smappee Genius Flex: the Genius Flex only has an A-port, so you cannot connect the Output Module to it directly. Add a Connect as a child of the Genius Flex, and connect the Output Module physically to the B-port of that Connect.

Note: An Output Module does not work on a Connect that is used on its own, without a Genius or Genius Flex as parent.

What is the Smappee Output Module?

The Smappee Output module is, next to the Smappee Switch and Smappee scenes, a cost-efficient way
to add smart control to the Smappee Infinity ecosystem. The module has 2 separate power relay outputs
(dual throw: NO/NC/Common). This allows remote control of devices that are either directly powered
(max. 5 A switching capability) or control a breaker (single or 3-phase) to steer high power equipment
e.g. a motor, EV charging station, hot water boiler. It can also be used as control signal for smart devices
such as Smart Grid Ready heat pumps. You can add up to 10 output modules to the Smappee Infinity
setup thanks to its RJ10 connection. The modules communicate via Modbus RTU (RS-485) with the
Smappee Genius or any third-party data logger.

• Add control to the Smappee Infinity ecosystem.
• 2 relay outputs (NO/NC/Common).
• Daisy-chain up to 10 output modules.
• The output modules can easily be added thanks to a quick RJ10 connection.

Use case example

When you have a boiler that you only want turned on, on specific timestamps. You can link one of the outputs of Output module to a contactor, on this contactor you connect the boiler.

Via the Smappee Genius in the Smappee App you can then set automations that turn the Output On/Off based on time, measurements, etc...
