Which Smappee Products support Local MQTT
We have 3 products that support Local MQTT
- The Smappee Genius (1) has both a local MQTT broker and can see its data to another broker, this is configurable via its expert portal. This is however limited to its own measurements data, you cannot view Smappee charger data on its broker for example.
- The Smappee Genius Flex has a local MQTT broker and can also show data of devices linked to the Genius Flex (see Genius Flex - MQTT / Modbus TCP - Local connection). The Genius Flex does not have the ability to send its data to another broker.
- The Smappee Energy, Solar, Plus and Pro support local MQTT but do not have a broker themselves, you need to configure your broker on the expert portal.
The Smappee Connect and P1 Module do not support local MQTT.
- You can however link the Smappee Connect to a Genius to read out its measurement data via the MQTT broker of the Genius.

- Genius Flex (SN: 520xxxxxxx)

Genius (1) Local MQTT
The Smappee Genius (1) offers the possibility to obtain data directly via MQTT.
It has a local MQTT broker and can also send its data to another broker. In case you would like the Genius to send data to its own MQTT broker, the MQTT local broker URL must be set to tcp://localhost:1883.
Should you wish to use your own server you need to navigate to the expert portal and set the broker in advanced settings. (Expert portal)
- For a TCP MQTT connection use URL: tcp://ServerIP:Port
- For a TLS MQTT connection (MQTTS) use URL: ssl://ServerIP:Port
For TLS we do not support self signed certificates.
