Smappee has its own CPMS (Charge Point Management System).
You can also connect your Smappee charging station to another CPMS.
Once it is set up, the charging station communicates with that external e-mobility platform over OCPP 1.6-J.
Before you start
Does your employer work with its own CPO?
You can connect your charging station to it directly, as long as the platform is compatible with Smappee. Check the overview here: Which third-party CPMS is compatible?
Is your employer’s CPO not compatible?
You can choose another CPO yourself, such as E-Flux or Mobiflow.
Either way, your CPO will give you a Host URL. You need it to complete the setup below.
Not sure which CPO to use? See : Getting reimbursed for charging your company car at home – Support
Set up the connection
- Log in to the Smappee Dashboard and select the EV Line board in the menu on the left.
- On the right, scroll down to your charger and select its serial number.
- Open the Charger configuration card.
- Go to tab 4 - Services and click the
symbol next to Activation method for charging sessions.
- Click Authorized charging, then External e-mobility platform.
-
Enter the Host URL of the e-mobility platform (for example
wss://test.example.eu/ocppj). - Click Save.
Authentication with ID and password
If your CPO also requires an ID and password, add them to the URL in this format:
wss://SMP_xxxxxxxxxx:password@websocketURL
Important: charge card tokens and the whitelist
If you want charging sessions handled by an external e-mobility platform to be reimbursed, your charge card’s token must not be on the whitelist.
Tokens on the whitelist are treated as free charging sessions. The external e-mobility platform does not register them, so they won’t be reimbursed.
Host URL not accepted?
Smappee only accepts Host URLs from charging station management systems (CSMS) that have passed an integration test with us. If you get an error message, the URL you entered is not (yet) approved.
- Check the URL with your CPO to make sure it’s correct.
- Check the compatibility list: Which third-party CPMS is compatible?
- Platform not on the list? Contact us to request approval for the new URL. This usually requires an integration test first.
