How to Replace filters (EV Ultra V1)

  • Hammer

Replacement Instructions

  1. Use the vacuum cleaner to clean all filters on the left side of the unit. [Vacuum cleaner]

  2. Remove all the screws on the side and bottom of the back plate. Place the back plate aside. [Allen 4]

  3. Cut the cable tie to release the cable from the fan on the left side (looking from the back of the unit), in order to prevent any damage during the maintenance operation. Push the cable aside. [Cutting pliers]

  4. Untighten the butterfly nut above the fan. It might be necessary to hammer it with a screwdriver or equivalent to “unblock” it. [Hammer and screwdriver]

  5. Untighten the screw holding the bottom of the fan panel. Remove the screw, washer and nut. [Allen 2.5 and Key 7]

  6. Tilt the fan holder and extract it from the unit. Be careful that the fan is not clashing with Protection plexi.

  7. Remove the old filter and replace it. Filter fits vertically in between 2 folds of the fan holder.

  8. Attach the screw at the bottom of the fan holder using the nut and washer. Tighten the butterfly nut on top of the fan holder. [Allen 2.5, Key 7 - Torque 1.5 N.m Hand-tight]

  9. Reattach the cable to the fan using the cable tie provided.

  10. Perform the same operation on the right side (looking from the back of the unit) - Remove the butterfly nut, and untighten the screw holding the bottom of the fan panel. Remove the screw, washer and nut. [Hammer and screwdriver Allen 2.5, key 7]

  11. Remove the old filter and replace it. Filter fits vertically in between 2 folds of the fan holder.

  12. Reinsert the fan holder, and retighten it and re-attach the screw at the bottom of the fan holder using the nut and washer. Tighten the butterfly nut on top of the fan holder. DC+ and DC- cables are present on the front of the unit, in the fan holder area. For this operation, it is easier to push them away to facilitate the insertion of the fan holder and prevent damage on the cables. [Allen 2.5, key 7 -Torque 1.5 N.m]

  13. Re-route the cabling in their original position, on the side of the fan, to prevent any cabling being damaged when charger is operating.

  14. Put the back plate back into position and retighten all the screws on the side and the bottom. [Allen 4]
