EV Dual - Replace charge controller

Parts needed

  • Connector 1 : [EV-PCB-CONTROLBOARD-1] AC Charge controller with 4G modem
  • OR Connector 2 : [EV-PCB-CONTROLBOARD-2] AC Charge controller without 4G modem

Tools needed

  • Safety TX20 or key
  • Allen 3
  • Hex 8

Replacement Instructions (Connector 1)

  1. Open the unit either by using the provided key (Wall version) or untightening the 6x safety screws (Base version) [Key (Wall) or Safety TX20 bit (base)] Place the front plate aside
  2. Disconnect the LED cable

  3. Disconnect the 2x RJ45 cables from the charge controller

  4. Disconnect the display cable

    Connector is very fragile, pay attention not to damage it.

  5. Remove the charge controller from the unit

    • Untighten the 2x M4 screws of the board [Allen 3]
    • Remove the charge controller

  6. Disconnect the 2 antenna cables from the charge controller [Hex 8]

  7. Replace the charge controller and retighten the 2 antenna cables

    Follow the marking on the board and on the cables : Connect the “LTE” cable to “4G” port and the “Wifi” cable to the “Wifi” port

  8. Reconnect the charge controller

    • Place the new charge controller onto the relay board. The connection area is directly integrated onto the board, and fits in the white connector on the relay board.
    • Retighten the 2x M4 screws [Allen 3 - Torque 2.5 N.m]

  9. Reconnect the display board.

    Connector is very fragile, pay attention not to damage it; when connected it cable side should hook onto the connector from the board.

  10. Reconnect the 2 RJ45 cables that were disconnected

    Pay attention to which cable is connected to which port : For charge controller of connector 1, bottom port is connected to second charge controller, top port is connected to to relay board

  11. Close the unit either by using the provided key (Wall version) or tightening the 6x safety screws (Base version) [Key (Wall) or Safety TX20 bit (base)]

  1. Open the unit either by using the provided key (Wall version) or untightening the 6x safety screws (Base version) [Key (Wall) or Safety TX20 bit (base)] Place the front plate aside
  2. Disconnect the 2x RJ45 cables from the charge controller

  3. Disconnect the display cable Connector is very fragile, pay attention not to damage it.

  4. Remove the charge controller from the unit

    • Untighten the 2x M4 screws of the board [Allen 3]
    • Remove the charge controller

  5. Replace the charge controller by the new one.

    • Place the new charge controller onto the relay board. The connection area is directly integrated onto the board, and fits in the white connector on the relay board.
    • Retighten the 2x M4 screws [Allen 3 - Torque 2.5 N.m]

When physically replace you will also need to replace the charging controllers via the App.

Settings → Charging station → Select module → Replace
