How to create a local connection between flex and Smappee Chargers
To create a local connection between a Smappee Charger (EV Wall, EV One, EV Dual) and the Genius Flex, they need to be in the same LAN network.
Although the same LAN is sufficient however we recommend using the dedicated Smappee IOT port on the Genius Flex for this, in the picture below this is marked as "Smart device connection".
Via APP
When installing the Smappee Charger in the App make sure you are navigated on the service location of the Genius Flex, then add the charger by selecting "Settings -> Install a new product"
Via Dashboard
If the Smappee Charger is already installed make sure, its location in "Charger configuration" is the location of the Genius Flex, if not change it via the Pencil Icon as shown in the screenshot below.
For Infinity where Connect is gateway specifically you need to make sure "Multi-gateway parent" is set to the Genius Flex location in "Location configuration"
Fallback to Smappee Cloud
When a Smappee device is linked to the Genius Flex with the steps described above it will try to connect to the local MQTT broker of the Genius Flex on its internal IP. If it is not able to, it will fallback to the Smappee Cloud.
Genius Flex - MQTT
The Genius Flex has its own MQTT Broker running where it will ready out and display the measurements and some other information of Smappee Devices.

Genius Flex - Modbus TCP
You can readout and write to Modbus TCP registers of the Genius Flex of the Devices that are connected locally. You can also check if devices are connected locally by checking the Local MQTT Broker of the Flex, if you see measurements of the devices on the Local MQTT broker every 5 seconds then you know they are connected properly.
