How to grant or revoke installer access?

Using the Smappee App, you have an ease way to grant or revoke your installer access to your location.

In the Smappee App, on the main screen, scroll down to see the information about the installer.

Click the button “Contact your installer”.

Here you find detailed information about your installer, but also a slider called “Allow installer access”.

Just hit the slider and you just granted the installer access to your location. You can manually revoke access by hitting that same slider.

The installer can also request access

When an installer has access to your location, he has the ability to perform remote troubleshooting and configuration. As long as the hardware is in the right place, any configuration can be changed without the necessity of being onsite.

Also, in case you have a question or need guidance on the different configuration options, the installer can remotely see your current configuration and guide you to the most convenient setup.

Most of the questions or small configuration mistakes occur just after the installation. Reason why we grant the installer by default access to the freshly installed location.  After two weeks a notification is shown in the Smappee App to inform the owner about the privilege assigned to the installer.

From that notification, the owner can easily revoke the installer access. However, you don’t need to wait for that notification to revoke the installer access or to re-grant it in case of issues.
