How to manage scenes

Compatability

Scenes are only supported by Smappee Energy, Solar, Plus and Pro and can only be used in combination with the Smappee Comfort plug and Switch.
The Smappee Genius uses a updated version of scenes called "Automations", more on this can be found here.

What is a scene?

A scene allows you to control the Smappee Smartplugs based on certain types of triggers.
Scenes can be created/editted via the "Control" section in the App.
The following triggers are supported:t

Activity in the building

Smappee tries to determine if there is any activity in the building by monitoring the consumption.
As soon as movement in the consumption is detected, the scene is triggered.

Location

The mobile App uses the GPS data of the Smartphone detect if the Smartphone enters or leaves a predefined area. Depending on what was chosen the scene will trigger when the Smartphone enters/leaves the area.

Active energy use

The scene is triggered when the Smappee is measuring a certain amount of Consumption or Production above or below a certain threshold. The check is done on the live data but it can take up to 2 minutes untill the scene is triggered.

For Example if you set the threshold of the consumption to 60W, then the power needs to be 60W for at least a minute before the scene is triggered.

Sunrise/sunset

The scene is triggered according to Sunset and Sunrise times.

Time schedule

The scene is triggered according to a predefined time

Import/Export

Similar to the "Active energy use" scenes, the Import/Export scene will monitor the measured Import/Export.

The scene is triggered when the Smappee is measuring a certain amount of Import or Export above or below a certain threshold. The check is done on the live data but it can take up to 2 minutes until the scene is triggered.

Edit a scene

Click the scene you wish to edit. Detailed information will be displayed about the scene. There you can change basic information like the name or type of the scene. For more advanced changes, use the "edit" button in the upper right corner of the screen. Follow all the steps and hit "next" to continue to the next steps. Follow the process until finally you can select "done". You will then return to the scene main menu.

If you cancel before hitting "done", all changes made will be undone.

Remove a scene

Click the scene you wish to delete and use the option "Remove this scene" at the bottom of the screen.

Removing a scene will unlink it from all smart devices it was linked to.

Link smart devices to the scene

Click the scene to which you wish to link smart devices and click the button "Manage smart devices". A list with all recognized smart devices will be displayed, please use the slider next to the smart devices to choose if the scene should be linked to the smart device. A grey button means that the scene is not linked. A green button means the scene is linked to the smart devices.

A list of smart devices the scene is linked to can be found above the option "manage smart devices". If no smart devices are displayed there, the scene is not linked to any smart devices.
