The usage comparison function on the main page of the app is a bench marking tool to assist you in understanding just how good/bad your consumption looks when compared to other similar locations on the Smappee database.
We compare your consumption with other users based on building type, region and family size.
The app compares 2 value:
- Total electricity usage: the overall calculated consumption of your household. Energy production has already been taken into account.
- Standby power/Always on Power: In every household, there are appliances that consume energy 24/7. They are never fully switched off and always consume a little energy. Standby or Always on power is the lowest measured consumption in your household over 48 hours.
Please note both values are fully independent from each other. It is possible to get a very good rating in total electricity usage but get a very bad rating for standby power or vice versa!
You can get 5 possible ratings for each value:
- Perfect rating: a message will indicate that your household consumption is part of the lowest compared to other locations.
- Great rating: a message will indicate that your household consumption is very low compared to other locations.
- Good rating: a message will indicate that your household consumption is lower compared to other locations.
- Average rating: a message will indicate that your household consumption is similar compared to other locations.
- Bad rating: a message will indicate that your household consumption is higher/a lot higher compared to other locations.
The slider bars will also give you an indication how good/bad your consumption is compared to other locations that are similar to yours.
