How to add or delete a location or delete personnal access in the Smappee app.

Sometimes it might be necessary to add a new location, remove yourself from a location or even fully remove a location from the Smappee database. 

You need to add a new location to install additional Smappee monitors. A Smappee monitor always has a unique identifier and so it is not possible to install 2 separate monitors to the same location. 

It might sometimes be necessary to withdraw your access to a charging station. This can sometimes be necessary if ownership of the unit moves over to someone else but the unit remains installed. 

On occasions it will also be necessary to fully remove the location. This is most often the case if the monitor must be reinstalled to a new location after having been reset. As long as the unit still is assigned to a unique identifier on the Smappee database, you will not be able to reinstall the monitor to a new location even if the unit has been reset. You will have to remove the current location first. 

These actions can all be done via the Smappee app. You can find how below:

  • Adding a location:
  1. Login to the app and on the dashboard click the ​ symbol in the upper right corner of the screen. Alternatively you can also go to settings and then click Other locations. 
  2. In the next window (the location overview page) click the ​ symbol in the lower right corner of the screen.
  3. This will start up installation instructions to set up a new monitor on a new location. 
  • Leave a location (withdraw your access to a location)
  1. Go to settings in the app. There click the location name of the current location on the top of the page. 
  2. On the next screen, scroll all the way down and click leave this location.
  3. You will get a warning that this actions is irreversible and that you will not have access to the location anymore. Once you confirm, the access to the location will be removed and you will not be able to see it anymore. 
  • Removing a location:
  1. Go to settings in the app. There click the location name of the current location on the top of the page. 
  2. On the next screen, scroll all the way down and click remove this location. 
  3. You will get a warning that this actions is irreversible. Once you confirm you wish to delete the location, the location will be deleted.
